House of the Dragon Season 2 Release Date and Episode Count Announced

HBO has announced that House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere on June 16 and air weekly through early August. The second season of the Game of Thrones prequel will consist of eight episodes, a reduction from Season 1's 10-episode count.

The release schedule is as follows:

• Episode 2: N/A - June 23
• Episode 3: N/A - June 30
• Episode 4: N/A - July 7
• Episode 5: N/A - July 14
• Episode 6: N/A - July 21
• Episode 7: N/A - July 28
• Episode 8: N/A - August 4

House of the Dragon, which won 10 Emmy awards in 2023, is HBO's most popular prequel to Game of Thrones. The show is based on George R. R. Martin's book Fire & Blood and tells the story of the Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons.
